actually looks like.

The problem

The instinct is right.
The instrument has been missing.

You know your brand sounds different on LinkedIn than it does in a sales deck. You know one competitor owns the authoritative register while another sounds like it switched to AI-generated copy eighteen months ago. You spotted all of it — because that is the job.

What you have not had is the numbers to prove it — to a CEO, to a board, to an agency that insists the voice is consistent. Signal measures the actual voice your brand produces across four channels, benchmarks it against the competitive field, and identifies where you are differentiated, where you cluster, and where voice fragmentation is costing you commercial ground.

Signal makes it measurable.

Before
"Our enterprise copy feels off — it does not sound like us." A feeling with no referent and no fix.
Lens
Enterprise channel: Force 41, Stability 98, Mediation 4. Consistent but expressionless. The voice is not off — it is flat. The fix is range and mediation, not a rewrite.
Before
"We sound the same as our main competitor." A suspicion that goes nowhere in a strategy session.
Lens
Force 37 vs 53. Stability 84 vs 39. Not the same. One brand asserts and holds. The other holds without asserting. Different vulnerabilities, different opportunities.
Before
"I think our careers copy is undermining the brand." Unverifiable, unactionable.
Lens
Careers: Force 25, Stability 14, Range 52 — inverse of every commercial channel. It is not undermining the brand. It is the only channel with clean human authorship. That is the real finding.
The five dimensions

What Signal actually measures

Not sentiment. Not readability scores. Five dimensions of cognitive architecture — each scored 0 to 100, each independently verifiable, each carrying a different competitive implication for the strategist who has to act on them.

Force
How assertively the brand makes claims across channels. The difference between a brand that sets terms and one that hedges into the room. High Force in a competitive field means you are claiming territory. Low Force means someone else is.
PassiveAssertive
Stability
Whether the brand holds its register across homepage, enterprise, developer, and talent surfaces. A Stability score is not a quality judgment — it is a governance signal. When Stability drops across a competitor analysis period, something changed. Signal finds it before the coverage does.
VariableConsistent
Mediation
The density of reader-directed language — how much the voice acknowledges the person on the other side. Low Mediation means the brand talks at its audience. High Mediation means it talks with them. The difference matters most in the channels where decisions are made.
DirectHedged
Structure
Whether the brand builds the argument before making the claim, or claims first and fills in later. Determines how a brand performs in long-form, in enterprise communications, and in any channel where the buyer needs to be convinced rather than converted.
IntuitiveFramework-first
Range
The tonal breadth of the voice across channels. Whether the brand can move between a developer audience and a CFO audience without either noticing the shift — or whether it has collapsed into a single register that serves neither well.

Why it matters

Three places Signal
changes the strategy

01 · Agency principals
Show clients what you already knew.
The voice drift you spotted before they did. The competitor closing the positioning gap. The AI contamination diluting the brand equity they have spent years building. Signal gives you the numbers to take into a client meeting and defend.
Competitor Force 53 vs client Force 21. That gap is not a feeling. It is the brief for the next six months.
02 · CMOs
Govern what your team is actually producing.
Brand guidelines describe the voice you want. Signal measures the voice you have. Run it across the channels your team owns — homepage, enterprise, developer docs, careers. The gap between guideline and output is the governance failure. Find it before a competitor does.
Stability 84 on homepage, Stability 14 on careers. That is not one brand. That is two brands with the same logo.
03 · Dealmakers
Voice consistency as a due diligence signal.
A brand with high cross-channel stability has been governed. A brand with AI contamination across commercial surfaces has been scaled without oversight. Signal surfaces what brand audits miss — the actual voice being produced, not the voice being described.
Three of four commercial channels flagged for AI signal. That is an operational finding, not an aesthetic one.

Possible voice signatures across five dimensions

No two brands produce the same five scores across five dimensions. Signal does not categorise, cluster, or assign a type. It produces a coordinate — specific, scored, and entirely unique to the voice in front of it. Then it places that coordinate in a field of competitors and shows you exactly where you stand.

Your competitive field just got
a sharper instrument.

Tell us your brand and the competitive set. We profile four channels per brand, benchmark the full field, and return role-specific reads for the leadership functions that need to act. Priced by scope, not by seat. No platform required.
